Turn the system upside down- Bimal Jalan

Bimal

Read these views expressed by ex-RBI governor Bimal Jalan. Most of us would agree with his analysis.

These lines were really thought provoking:

We should take a lesson from the way in which our great democracy provides free and fair elections for 670 million people on time. But it can’t construct a power plant on time, which a private sector can construct. It can’t construct a highway on time which a private sector can construct. Why is it so?”

I wonder if there is any factual support to the statement of Mr Jalan. On 27th July 2009 at 1030 pm after the thunder storm, I arrived at the GMR airport. The spanking new airports arrival lounge was flooded with water and the floor was extremely slippery. water was leaking from the electrical fittings. Extremely unhygenic conditions. The entire arrangement was pathetic. compunded with the high passenger fee.
If the work of the airport is examined carefully the work quality is very shoddy. Three cheers for privatization.
